I dont really want to go full macbook pro as mine works fine for internet and other basic usage, i want a dedicated system that will record guitars (live with plugins) instrument vst's, triggered superior drummer 3 without glitching, popping and having to run down issues. ![]() So those that have used mini's what has seemed to work best, computer experts chime in. Im looking to add the 64 ram upgrade (myself) and run off dual screens using a thunderbolt adaptor. I also use an axe fx iii and have found that axe edit is a resource hog and i have to turn it off for any daw. Interface is a apollo twin thunderbolt (no issues) studio one right now on virtual insturments will peak the performance monitor ( i have tried all the optimization tricks) I use studio one and luna instruments along with amp'd, neural and a couple others. looking at a i3 and i5 mac mini for dedicated recording usage. added ssd and 16 ram memory and it is now having issues handling digital needs. Currently using a 2012 unibody macbook pro that needs to be replaced.
